60+ pounds down, and unafraid.

Before kids, I was able to follow a strict paleo diet. My husband was gone a lot, so it was just me in the house. I only bought foods that fit my diet. After kid #1, the baby weight came back on like a boomerang, but I was able to pull myself together and do a “paleo-ish” diet. Then came kid #2 and double the baby weight. I would start back to paleo on a Monday (the official start date of dieters everywhere), but by Friday, life would take over. Paleo just wasn’t something that fit my lifestyle anymore, but something had to change. I had heard about macros and seen your journey with macros, so I started doing some reading on my own. I was intrigued. What’s the worse that could happen? I don’t lose any weight? Par for the course at that point.

I am a married mother of 2 (ages 4 and 6). My husband is active duty military and is gone more than he is home, and I work full time outside of the home. We are always on the go!

I currently do not go to the gym. I just can’t squeeze one more scheduled thing into my week right now. Since I do work a desk job, I try to stay fairly active in other areas of my life with DIY projects, yard work, climbing stairs between meetings, parking at the back of the parking lot, etc.

Most important success: Not living in fear of carbs! I used to avoid them like the plague. When I would eat them, I just knew that someone was judging the curvy girl eating the carbs and feel like I needed to hide the fact that I ate carbs. Who has time to live their life ashamed of a bagel?! Now I eat all the carbs...IIFYM of course 😉

I can live my life on the go and not worry about sabotaging my diet or going out of my way to find some chicken and broccoli (although I do like both... just not at every meal). I can eat what my family eats!
